About
Seth Kaplan is a Los Angeles-based film and television music editor with over 15 years of experience across studio features, streaming series, documentaries, and scripted television. His recent credits include Dune: Part 3, Supergirl, Anaconda, The Old Guard 2, SEAL Team, and Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Seth Kaplan has been entwined with music his whole life. He studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, accepting the BMI Award, and graduated with a degree in Film Scoring. Upon returning to Los Angeles, Seth quickly started as a composer, working under notable composers such as Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Joey Newman, Marco Beltrami, Brandon Roberts, and Randy Newman.
In 2021, Seth took a creative detour from film and television music and joined the Scary Pockets team as executive producer of their sister channel, stories. Under his leadership, the channel released more than 100 singles and videos, 10 albums, and grew to over 180,000 YouTube subscribers and 250,000 monthly Spotify listeners.
Today, Seth works as a music editor. Drawing from his previous experience as a composer, he excels in crafting temp scores and adeptly navigating the logistical challenges of even the most complex projects. He possesses an intrinsic understanding of how music works to enhance storytelling, and enjoys collaborating with composers to help them to do their best work. He is a great communicator, and instills an ease and flow to every project he works on.
